A Coaching Client Agreement is an agreement whereby two parties come together for the provision of coaching services. The parties in this document are the coach, who provides the coaching services, and the client, the recipient of such services. Coaching businesses have become very popular, especially those based online, over the past several years and this agreement can help both parties be sure that the agreement between them is solid.

Many coaches operate as independent businesses in and of themselves. In fact, due to the popularity of coaching businesses, most coaches work entirely as their own entities, taking on clients as needed and desired. A coaching relationship can cover any topic area. Generally, these types of relationships cover life coaching, business coaching, health coaching, or a combination of these areas. They can also cover something else entirely.

In this Coaching Client Agreement, the parties agree to the terms of the relationship between them, including what the focus of the coaching will be. In an agreement like this, standard contractual clauses are also included, such as choice of law and venue.

How to use this document

This document can be used in any scenario in which a coach and client would like to begin their relationship. It can be used by either party - in other words, for a coach looking for a standard template for clients, this would be a good fit. The size and structure of the coaching relationship doesn't matter, this agreement can be used for all types of coaches and clients. This agreement can also be used for online-only coach and client relationships, if applicable.

In this document, basic identifying information about the parties will be entered, such as names and address details. Then, details about the actual coaching project and services will be included. This information includes fee information, how many meetings are expected, what the communication methods are, and of course, what the area of coaching will be.

After this document is filled out, it should be printed out so that both parties can sign it. Then, a best practice is for both parties to keep a copy.
