This is a letter that you can use to cancel a contract for the supply of goods or services, where a consumer has ordered those services/goods at a distance via the internet, telephone or other method of communication.

The document provides a simple template that enables a person to cancel the contract for services or goods in accordance with their rights, to request confirmation of such from the supplier and to recover any deposit if paid.

Please note that in order to use this document, the order for services must have been placed no more than 14 days before the date on which the contract will be cancelled. Where the contract has been for the provision of goods and some or all of these goods have already been received by the person who placed the order, this date must be no more than 14 days after the date on which the last good was received by them under the contract.


How to use this document?

Once this document has been completed simply send it to the business that was to supply services or goods, and wait for them to respond confirming the contract has been cancelled. This letter can be sent by post or by email. If the business does not respond to the letter within a reasonable number of days, it may be prudent to contact the business to ensure that they have received the letter.
