This letter is for use when a customer is making a claim against their credit card company under s.75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (CCA 1974). s75 of CCA 1975 says that a credit card company will share liability for any breach of contract or misrepresentation of a trader, where certain conditions apply. The protection under s75 of the CCA1974 will generally apply when a consumer purchase for a single item or service was: 1) made on a credit card; and 2) was more than £100; and 3) was not more than £30,000. It is also important to note that, in order to qualify for a s75 claim, the cost of a single item or service must be more than £100. If multiple products or services were sold individually, even if they collectively cost more than £100, the s75 protection would not apply.
