A Change of Rent Notice is a letter written by a landlord to inform their tenant about a change in rent. In this letter, the landlord may either increase or decrease the rent, and when doing so, the landlord must notify the tenant of the change in rent either orally or in writing, and the notice must be adequate. However, it is more expedient to send a written notice to avoid any misunderstanding and disputes over the rent due.

The landlord may either send this letter in person or through his/her authorized agent. The agent should be a party who has been authorized by the landlord under a Power of Attorney or a Letter of Authorization
