The Harassment Cease and Desist Letter is a letter that notifies a person of their harassment and demands that they stop their unsolicited conduct or practice. Harassment includes any unwarranted and unwelcome actions and conducts that insults, disparages, or intimidates another.

The harassment may be sexual or non-sexual. Examples of sexual harassment include an unwanted display of inappropriate images or videos, unwanted touching of any sensitive or private part of another, making unwanted and inappropriate sexual jokes, etc. Non-sexual harassment is any word or action that intimidates, threatens, or annoys another party, such as negative or racists comments or other other activities or conduct that may constitute workplace harassment.

This document serves as a formal warning to the person engaged in the harassing activity to stop or discontinue such offensive conduct. It should be used by a person who has been harassed by a neighbour, a colleague, an employer, or any other person. It simply outlines details of the harassing activity and the consequences of the harassment.

How to use this document
