Cleaning Service Agreement

A Cleaning Service Agreement is a document used by two parties when a housekeeper or cleaning company (called the service provider) agrees to provide cleaning services to a client. This contract allows the service provider and the client to define the scope of their relationship and describe the details of the cleaning services that will be provided.

Both parties can discuss the terms of the contract, and create and sign the final contract together before the work actually begins. This contract can also be drafted after the work has begun to clarify the relationship and responsibilities of all parties involved. Each party should keep a copy of the signed contract.

Applicable Law

All service contracts are subject to federal and provincial laws that cover general contract principles governing the courts' creation and interpretation of contracts. Federal laws may restrict what services may be contracted for (for example, illegal services may not be contracted for) and certain general categories, such as contracts that are more like an employment relationship, but the laws specific to each province may govern contract interpretation in the event of a dispute.
